This part(Dorman 973-405) will replace your factory Delphi# 15305077. My factory Delphi# 15305077 had a shroud over the resistor and required the four mounting holes that Dorman 973-405 offers. My factory resistor measures 5' inches in length from one mounting holes to the other. If you just want the resistor itself, get the Dorman 973-009. Dorman 973-409 is the kit that has the two mounting holes. What's stupid that Dorman did, is part# 973-009(resistor with four mounting holes) is not in the kit 973-409(kit include resistor w/ two mounting holes). Instead, they put the resistor(#973-004) w/ two holes in their kit 973-409, and put the resistor(#973-009) w/ four mounting holes in their kit 973-405. You would think the number 4, in 973-40X, denotes the kit with a harness with X equal to what resistor model you are getting. I chose Dorman over AC Delco, because of the limited life time warranty that Dorman included with this product, compared to the 1 year warranty that AC Delco offered. Why pay more for a 1 year warranty, when you can pay less for a limited life time warranty? Down right to it, the AC Delco and this Dorman is probably made in the same Chinese factory plant. This was installed on my 2003 Sierra with manual temperature control(Photo shows the manual temp control). It fixes my problem with dead fan speed, 1, 2, & 3.

I have a 2005 Tahoe where the high speed - # 5 - went out quite a while back. Then about 6 months later the # 4 speed went out. I did some research on the Tahoe Forums and determined there was really good chance this was the problem. After removing the cover under the dash I got the part # of the old one and cross referenced with this one on the Dorman web site. After I received it I installed and while the fan now worked on speed # 5 the # 4 speed was still not working. I disconnected the wiring harness from the switch and noticed that 2 of the connections in the old plug were a little discolored. I cut the wires on the old one and replaced it with the new included plug and harness and now all 5 speeds are working as they are supposed to.

The Resistor took about 20 minutes to replace. I'm slow and wanted to check the connectors good before plugging it in. If I had needed to change the connector supplied with the resistor, it would have taken longer. There are plenty of insulators in the kit to get the job done if you have to change the wiring connector (because of burned wires). You will need a 7mm socket and a short extender. You'll see. Be sure to watch the clip on youtube about changing the resistor before you start. Oh, the edges of the plastic cover are sort of sharp. A thin pair of work gloves will keep you from getting all scraped up and cut. It's really good to have all the positions on the blower working again. I know I could have taken the truck to a GM dealer for the recall replacement. But, I've tried that on a couple of other items and always been frustrated with having to beg them to do their job. I'm a 100% Dorman fan. I've never had a bad Dorman part, nor have I ever changed one later because it went bad.

I had purchased this same part in (a non OEM) from Advanced Auto. Unfortunately, it only lasted about a year. So, I came to Amazon to find a better quality unit. The price was good and the blower motor itself when held is clearly made of much better quality materials than the previous unit.. A clear case of "you get what you pay for". It didn't have colored wires unfortunately so, I had to match up the wires to get it to work but, it's only slightly harder to install. This is good quality and I'd rate the Dorman 973-405 Chevrolet/GMC Blower Motor a BUY

Perfect part. Not hard to replace. Yes you need to use everything that is given. 05 Chevy Silverado 5.3 LT. Took about 30-45 min, after watching You Tube. ie... How to fix the A/C Heater on your Chevy GMC that goes out intermittently, briansmobile, Published on Aug 16, 2012. Plug and Play with simple tools, You can do it to:-)

Installed relatively easily, does it's job. Great warranty, should I need it. Notes on installation: Installed on an '06 Silverado. Personally, I like to write down wiring schemes, just makes me feel better. Especially useful when the wires in the vehicle are color coded and the wiring harness is not. Not a flaw, just a personal preference. If you enjoy wiring, or like your wiring to look good after it's done, get better connectors. Having rewired my '04 Grand Prix on numerous occasions, I consider myself relatively experienced at wiring things in vehicles. These connectors included were nowhere near adequate for connecting the wires in my wife's truck. they barely contained the wire harness wires, there was no way of securely wriggling the vehicle wires in to crimp, especially since in my case, the vehicle wiring is slightly larger. Not complaining about a free part that isn't even really listed as included, and certainly not docking a star for it. Just saying that if you read reviews, and you care about such things, just get some decent connectors at your place of choice, these are iffy at best. With electrical tape for now, everything works exactly as it should, so, I'm happy.

Exactly what I needed to get my functionality back on my Fan control. Great to have control of my AC again, other than off or on max. Online videos will have this part installed in no time.

Wiring harness burnt up and resistor..no brainer replacement for a fraction of the price at the local auto parts..Dorman is a trusted part..if this is your problem, don't hesitate to let this be your solution

This fixed my 2005 chevy tahoe air conditioning problem. My blower stopped functioning on speeds 4/5, when I pulled the old one out its was pretty corroded. I found a YouTube video which gave me step my step instructions to remove and replace the unit. It was fairly simple to do just remove 4 screws and replace the old harness with the new one provided. Tip- purchase your own smaller butt crimps wire connectors the ones provided were a little too big. They work but I liked the clean look of the smaller connector.

This Blower motor resistor was a replacement part or my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. It worked perfectly to restore my air conditioning and heating air flow. The installation was tricky because removing and replacing duct work screws was done in tight places. Check online for procedure and screw head sizes. I recall 7mm and 5.5mm but could be in error. Deep sockets (7mm ??) will make the work a bit easier. Small wrench worked for 5.5 mm heads.
